A Blackwood man has been handed a suspended prison sentenced for holding indecent images of children.

Ashley Carol, 30, of Morrison Street, Blackwood was sentenced at Cardiff Crown Court on January 19.

In December of last year, Carol pleaded guilty to charges including possessing prohibited images of a child, possessing indecent photographs of a child and possessing extreme bestiality porn.

Carol was sentenced to 16 months in prison – but this was suspended for two years.

He will need to complete 100 hours of unpaid work and a 30-day rehabilitation programme.

Carol will also have to register on the sex offenders list for ten years and will have restricted access to the internet for a decade.
