Gerwyn Price in Premier League Darts action in Brighton

Markham’s Gerwyn Price has suffered a third consecutive first-round Premier League Darts exit after being beaten by Luke Humphries in Brighton.

Price fell to a 6-2 defeat in the opening round on Night Six, held on Thursday March 7.

Humphries, who is the reigning world champion, went on to win the event, beating compatriot Michael Smith in the final.

Defeat means Price remains seventh in the Premier League Darts standings, above only Peter Wright – who Price faces in the opening round of Night Seven in Nottingham on March 14.

The Premier League consists of 16 mini-events held across different cities throughout the season, with each league night comprising quarter-finals, semi-finals and a final over the best of 11 legs.

Points will be awarded each night to form the league table, from which the top four players will progress to the play-offs, which will be held at the O2 in London on Thursday May 23.
