Chartist Bridge in Blackwood will be closed for 11 days over the next month while a scheduled structural inspection is carried out.

Lane narrowing will be in place between Monday March 11 and Friday March 22 to allow two-way traffic to continue.

Between Monday March 25 and Friday April 5 however, the bridge will be closed completely from 8am until 6pm.

Caerphilly County Borough Council, which is carrying out the inspection, apologised for the inconvenience, but said the structural inspection cannot be done with the road open.
