Bedwas RFC have raised more than £1,700 for St David’s Hospice and thanked local businesses for their generous donations.

The club’s charity night, held on Friday April 19, was described as an evening filled with entertainment and good spirit by the club.

The event raised £1,312, before an extra £297 was raised at a recent match against Glamorgan Wanderers

Bedwas RFC said they’d like to thank all those individuals and businesses who contributed raffle prizes, including The Fisherman’s Rest, Church House Inn, and Peter’s Pies.

Bill Price, club director, said: “We are immensely grateful for the generosity and support of the community.

“The funds will make a real difference to the families being supported by St David’s Hospice. Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to this awesome community effort.”
