Plaid Cymru leader Rhun ap Iorwerth has announced a reshuffle of his top team in the Senedd.

It sees new a role for South Wales East Senedd Member Peredur Owen Griffiths, who takes on the transport brief alongside his local government portfolio.

Fellow South Wales East MS Delyth Jewell remains as the party’s deputy leader and keeps the climate change brief.

Announcing his new front bench, Mr ap Iorwerth took a swipe at the Welsh Government and First Minister Vaughan Gething, who this week lost a vote of no confidence in the Senedd.

Mr ap Iorwerth said: “As we start looking ahead to the 2026 election, Plaid Cymru offers a fresh alternative to this tired Labour Welsh Government which is in complete disarray with a First Minister clinging to power despite having lost his mandate to lead.
