Caerphilly County Borough Council has issued an appeal after thousands of pounds worth of gardening equipment, as well as a pint of milk, was allegedly stolen from its depot in Abercarn.

It’s believed the incident happened during the night of Thursday June 20 or the early hours of the morning of Friday June 21.

Equipment such as blowers, chainsaws, hedge cutters, and strimmers were all gone. The council also said “a pint of milk was missing from the fridge”.

Wires leading to CCTV cameras at the depot were also allegedly cut.

According to the council, it has managed to “minimise impacts on service delivery”, despite the missing equipment.

It is asking anyone with information to contact Gwent Police on 101, quoting log number 2400195823.
