Caerphilly is preparing to celebrate Armed Forces Day over the weekend, with local services planned across the borough.
Armed Forces Day, which is being held on Saturday June 29, is an opportunity to show support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces Community; from serving personnel to service families, veterans, and cadets.
The official Armed Forces Day flag will be flying outside Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Ty Penallta headquarters, while various local services will be taking place across the borough.
A celebration event will occur in Tredegar, Blaenau Gwent, between 12pm and 5pm on Sunday June 30.
Live entertainment, stalls, and a service will take place, with a display by the Royal Welsh Regimental Band to celebrate armed forces personnel.
Caerphilly County Borough Council was one of the first local authorities to have signed the Armed Forces Covenant in Wales, signing up last November.
