Ahead of the general election on Thursday July 4, the council has confirmed which leisure centres will be affected.

Caerphilly Leisure centre will be the base of the Caerphilly constituency count, with polling stations open from 7am until 10pm.

The council has said the leisure centre will close at 7pm on Wednesday July 3, and reopen at 9am on Friday July 5.

Elsewhere, Newbridge leisure centre will be the base of the Newport West and Islywn count, and will close at 6pm on Wednesday July 3, with the pool closing at 4pm.

It will reopen as usual at 6am on Friday July 5.
