Gerwyn Price faces a tough opening round fixture in this weekend’s darts World Matchplay tournament, taking on Northern Ireland’s Daryl Gurney.
Markham’s Price goes into the competition, which is being held at Blackpool’s Winter Gardens, having missed the recent World Cup of Darts through illness.
However, the world number four is now back in the mix – with a £200,000 prize for the winners.
The competition gets underway on Saturday July 13, with the winner being crowned on Sunday July 21.
Heavyweight clashes in the opening round will see Michael van Gerwen take on tournament favourite Luke Littler, while Michael Smith, fresh off the back of world cup victory with England, faces Scotland’s Gary Anderson.
Welshman Jonny Clayton, who finished runner-up in this competition last year, opens up against Raymond van Barneveld, while reigning champion Nathan Aspinall faces Luke Woodhouse.
