Caerphilly Castle

The popular BBC programme Antiques Roadshow is set to visit Caerphilly Castle this summer, with filming scheduled for Saturday July 18.

Set against the backdrop of one of South Wales’ most iconic landmarks, the show invites members of the public to bring along treasured possessions to be examined and valued by a team of expert appraisers.

Attendees are being encouraged to share details of the items they wish to bring ahead of the event. Through the programme’s “Share Your Story” portal, participants can submit photographs and descriptions of their antiques for consideration by the Roadshow team.

In some cases, experts may contact applicants before the event to discuss particularly interesting or unusual items.

While advance submissions are encouraged, organisers have confirmed that items brought along on the day will still be considered.

The event will once again be ticketed, meaning visitors must apply in advance to attend, as numbers on site will be limited.

Refurb has ‘secured the future’ of Caerphilly Castle

Successful applicants will receive their tickets approximately four weeks ahead of the event. Organisers have also confirmed that, in the event of high demand, tickets may be allocated on a selective basis.

Those attending will be able to choose between a morning or afternoon arrival, with entry times staggered in hourly sessions. Once inside the event, visitors are free to stay at the Roadshow for as long as they wish.

Tickets must be applied for online via the show’s official ticketing partner, Lost in TV, with further details about the selection process and health and safety measures available on the booking page.

Organisers have stressed that submissions will only be reviewed if sent through the official “Share Your Story” portal, and not via email or post.

The event is expected to draw visitors from across the region, offering locals a chance to uncover the stories and potential value behind their antiques.
