Gerwyn Price will be aiming for back-to-back world series titles as he competes at the New Zealand Darts Masters this weekend.
Price, from Markham, faces kiwi Ben Robb in his opening match in Hamilton on Friday August 16, as he looks to follow up last weekend’s victory at the Australian Darts Masters.
The opening round of the 16-player competition sees eight PDC stars take on eight Oceanic representatives.
Luke Littler, who was beaten 8-1 by Price in the Australian Darts Masters final, opens up to New Zealander Jonny Tata, while world number one Luke Humphries faces Kayden Milne.
Elsewhere, two-time world champion Peter Wright takes on Daniel Snookes, 2022 world champion Michael Smith will play Jeremy Fagg, and Rob Cross, who won last year’s event in New Zealand, will go up against Haupai Puha.
The remaining opening round ties see Australian duo Simon Whitlock and Damon Heta square up against each other, while Belgium’s Dimitri Van den Bergh will meet Mark Cleaver.
Price won the competition in 2022, and reached the semi-finals in 2023.
