Markham’s Gerwyn Price reached his first Players Championship final since November 2023 when he reached the Players Championship 27 showpiece on Tuesday October 15.
However, it ended in defeat in Wigan for the Iceman, with Dutchman Michael van Gerwen securing an 8-4 victory to clinch his third PDC ranking title in a month.
En route to the final, Price beat Madars Razma 6-4 in the opening round, before a convincing 6-1 win over Australia’s Damon Heta in the quarter-finals.
He then secured his place in the final with a 7-4 semi-final win over Ryan Searle, reeling off three consecutive legs to complete victory.
