Gerwyn Price will face Daryl Gurney in the first round of this week’s darts European Championships.
The £500,000 event – featuring the top 32 players from the 2024 European Tour Order of Merit – will be held in Dortmund, Germany between Thursday October 24 and Sunday October 27.
Price, from Markham, goes into the competition having pulled out of last week’s Czech Darts Open in Prague due to a shoulder issue, which he described as “the worst pain ever”.
Posting on his Instagram story following his withdrawal on Saturday, Price said: “Disappointing to have to withdraw from the Prague event this weekend, could have done with playing this weekend to keep the form on the up.”
He added: “Hopefully with some physio over the next week I’ll be OK for the European finals.”
The European Championships will be broadcast live on ITV.
