Gerwyn Price will play Germany’s Florian Hempel when the darts World Masters gets underway in Milton Keynes on Thursday January 30.
Price, from Markham, enters the competition in the first round, while Hempel qualified after a 2-0 victory over compatriot Gabriel Clemens in the preliminary round.
The competition champion will take home a £100,000 prize, with £50,000 on offer to the runner-up.
Price goes into the event off the back of last weekend’s Dutch Darts Masters, where he was beaten by eventual champion Rob Cross in the semi-finals.
The World Masters concludes on Sunday February 2.
It will be followed by the return of Premier League Darts, which kicks-off in Belfast on Thursday February 6. Price will face Chris Dobey in his opening game.
