A 39-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder has been released with no further action from police.

A 54-year-old man was found dead at an address on Perth Court at around 1.15am on Tuesday February 11, according to Gwent Police. His next of kin are aware and are receiving support from specialist officers.

Detective Superintendent Michelle Chaplin said police are now treating the death as “unexplained”.

She said: “A 39-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder as part of our initial enquiries; however he was later released from custody with no further action to be taken.

“We will maintain a police presence in the area as we continue to establish what has happened, but we would appreciate any details from the public that could assist our enquiries.”
