A former substation could be transformed into a beauty salon, under new plans submitted to Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Applicant Denys Cronin has proposed the change of use for a structure off Abertridwr Square, near the Buffs Club.

The “long-disused outhouse” would be brought “back into functional use as a beauty salon trading as Beauty Box”, according to a design statement by planning agents Dell Designs Ltd.

The proposed new use would offer “a range of cosmetic and personal care services to the local community”.

These could include hair cutting and styling, nail treatments, eyebrow tattooing, and tanning.

“The proposal supports small business development in the local area while revitalising a building that has stood unused for many years,” the agents said in their submissions to the council.

The application is currently out for consultation, and can be viewed on the Caerphilly County Borough Council website under reference 25/0495/COU.
