Declan Gordon was jailed for more than two years

A drug dealer who tried to run from police responding to a school burglar alarm has been jailed for two years.

Declan Gordon, 25, of Bryn Teg, Bargoed, was caught by officers with cocaine worth an estimated £16,000, weighing scales, and snap seal bags at a school in Gilfach on Sunday June 1.

Gordon admitted a charge of possession with intent to supply a Class A drug, cocaine, and possession of an offensive weapon, a nunchuck, in a private place

He was sentenced two years three months in prison after appearing in Cardiff Crown Court last month.

In a statement, Gwent Police said: “Drug supply will not be tolerated in Gwent. We’re committed to protecting our communities from the devastating effects of illegal drugs, which can often ruin lives, exploit vulnerable members of society and often lead to other forms of criminal activity.”
