People who live and work in Caerphilly town are being asked to share their views on how the town should develop in the years ahead.
Dubbed by officials as a ‘Festival of Ideas’, residents can drop in at Y Banc, Cardiff Road, and Stockland Square, Stockland Street, on Saturday September 6, between 12pm and 3pm.
The free, family-friendly, event will feature hands-on activities for children, interactive workshops and opportunities to speak directly with officers from Caerphilly County Borough Council about future developments in the “Top of Town” area, stretching from the railway station to The Twyn car park.
Visitors can also book in advance to take part in an Augmented Reality experience, offering a chance to reimagine Cardiff Road as they would like it to look.
Using immersive technology, people will be able to see, hear and shape ideas for the town’s future.
Cllr Jamie Pritchard, deputy leader of Caerphilly County Borough Council, said: “This is about more than bricks and mortar – it’s about people.
“The Festival of Ideas gives the community a genuine opportunity to influence what the future of Caerphilly looks like. Community engagement is a key part of our work on Caerphilly Town 2035, as already seen with projects ranging from Ffos Caerffili to the public realm upgrades in Windsor and Stockland Squares, and we’re taking it to the next level with the Festival of Ideas.
“We’re excited to hear people’s ideas and proud to support a day that puts residents at the heart of planning.”
