Crimestoppers offering £1,000 reward for information on park assault

Update: Gwent Police confirmed on Wednesday September 24 that Shane Carter has been located and is assisting with enquiries

A £1,000 reward is on offer as police continue to investigate a reported sexual assault in Parc Penallta.

The assault is said to have happened in a car at around 3.40am on Tuesday July 29.

Following the incident, Gwent Police appealed for information to speak to 52-year-old Shane Carter, from Gelligaer.

Police believe he may have vital information that could help with the investigation.

Now, independent charity Crimestoppers is offering a four-figure reward for “information leading to the arrest and conviction of Carter”.

Anyone with information can contact Gwent Police on 101, or through direct message on social media, quoting log reference 2500241998.

Gwent Police can also be contacted through its website, while Crimestoppers can be called anonymously on 0800 555 111.

A reward of up to £1,000 is available for the anonymous information on the whereabouts of Shane Carter.
