Social media rumours of a stabbing at Parc Penallta are untrue, Gwent Police has confirmed.

There was a police presence at the park on Sunday October 12 but the force confirmed this was due to a child requiring medical attention.

Officers were at the park to support the Welsh Air Ambulance, with the child taken to hospital for treatment.
