A £100 gift voucher will be awarded to both the school and sports club with the highest number of entries at this year’s Caerphilly 2k run.

The 2k run will take place on the same day as the Caerphilly 10k race on Sunday May 10.

Sport Caerphilly, which is part of Caerphilly County Borough Council, has launched the gift voucher initiative to encourage more schools and clubs to take part.

The vouchers can be used to buy equipment or go towards future activities.

Cllr Chris Morgan, cabinet member for leisure, said: “This incentive is a great way to encourage schools and sports clubs to get involved in the Caerphilly 2K.

“It helps promote the importance of being active while supporting local organisations that play a vital role in their communities.”

To be eligible for the £100 gift voucher, schools and sports clubs can contact the Caerphilly 10k team to receive a code that will track their entries. Only entries made using the unique link will count towards the incentive.

Schools and sports clubs must email 10k@caerphilly.gov.uk to receive a unique registration link.

For more information and to register for the Caerphilly 2k, visit www.caerphilly10k.co.uk.
