A driver was taken to hospital as a precaution following a car crash in Bargoed on Thursday afternoon.

The incident, which involved one car, happened on the roundabout between Angel Way and Station Road at around 12pm on Thursday March 5.

A Gwent Police spokesperson confirmed a silver Volkswagen Tiguan was involved.

An electric box was damaged following the incident, while traffic lights at the top of Commercial Street were also affected.

The National Grid was called out to ensure the box and the car were safe, and the car has since been removed.

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service and the Welsh Ambulance Service were also at the scene.

Gwent Police initially told Caerphilly Observer the road had been closed, but later confirmed to us this was never the case.
