RSPCA Cymru is appealing to find this injured horse’s owner

An appeal has been launched to find the owner of a thin and injured horse found in Risca.

The cob type horse was rescued from land off Dan y Graig Road on Monday March 16 after being found in a poor condition.

RSPCA Inspector Sophie Daniels said: “This cob is extremely thin and has a nasty infected injury to the left hind.

“The horse was not microchipped and had reportedly been on the land for several weeks with nobody attending. Strangely it was wearing a fleecy zebra print rug.

“She was taken into possession by police and is now at a private boarding facility and will receive the treatment he needs.”

Ms Daniels continued: “We don’t know who she belongs to so we’re issuing an appeal to help with enquiries.

“We’d also like to thank those members of the public who have called this in and we hope this cob will be able to make a full recovery.”

Anyone with information can contact the RSPCA Inspectorate Appeal Line on 0300 123 8018, quoting reference 1755945.
