An indoor golf simulator could open in Bedwas

An indoor golf simulator could open in a Bedwas industrial estate.

Craig Hughes, of Pin Sim Golf, has requested change-of-use planning permission from Caerphilly County Borough Council for the new venture.

If approved, two units at Bedwas House Industrial Estate could be transformed with new golfing simulator bays, a reception area, office, kitchen and toilets.

They would replace a former kitchen units supplier, planning documents show.

In a supporting statement, Mr Hughes said the “small-scale” venue would mainly operate on a pre-booking basis, with customers attending for reserved time periods.

Mr Hughes’ application shows the prospective business could create one full-time and two part-time jobs, and the golf attraction could open from 10am to 10pm from Mondays to Saturdays, and from 10am to 8pm on Sundays and bank holidays.

He describes informal talks with local traders and residents as “positive” with interest in a golf simulator coming to the area.

According to the planning documents, Mr Hughes does not own the site but has given notice of his application to the landowner.

The application is currently out for consultation, and can be viewed on the Caerphilly County Borough Council website under reference 26/0218/COU.
