The annual Caerphilly 10k and 2k races return on Sunday May 10, with roads set to close as part of the event.

Crescent Road, where the start and finish line will be located, will be closed on the day between 6am and 1pm.

Closures will be in place along Cardiff Road and Van Road between 9am and 12pm, and along Castle Street and Nantgarw Road (between the Piccadilly and Crescent Road) from 9am to 10.15am.

Piccadilly Square, including Eastview and Southern Street, will be closed between 9am and 10.15am, while Pontygwindy Road will shut between 9.30am and 10.45am.

Caerphilly Business Park roundabout and the eastern part of Van Road, as well as the Lansbury Park Distributor Road, will all be closed from 9:30am to 12:00pm.

Despite these closures, access between Lansbury Park and Mornington Meadows will be maintained throughout the event.

Meanwhile the road between the Pwllypant and Bedwas Bridge roundabouts will be closed to eastbound traffic between 9am and 11.30am. There will be no access to Gallagher Retail Park via the roundabout near What!, KFC, and Aldi during this time.

Road closure signage and cones will be placed along the route in advance, organisers Caerphilly County Borough Council confirmed.

Parking restrictions will also be in place on sections of the route. Bus services may also be subject to temporary changes.
