A 36-year-old woman and two boys, aged nine and 16, were taken to hospital following an incident in Gilfach over the weekend.

The three were seen in a car close to Margaret Street, with Gwent Police receiving a call regarding a concern for their safety at around 10.45am on Sunday April 19.

Police officers attended along with the Welsh Ambulance Service, Welsh Air Ambulance, and South Wales Fire and Rescue Service.

The woman and the nine-year-old boy remain in a critical condition in hospital, but the 16-year-old boy is now in a stable condition, Gwent Police confirmed.
