Marks and Spencer is planning to open a new M&S Foodhall in Caerphilly.
The retailer has submitted a planning application to Caerphilly County Borough Council to open a new store on Gallagher Retail Park.
The store would open in the unit currently occupied by What!.
A spokesperson for Marks and Spencer said: “The store would offer over 6,600 products, from fresh produce from M&S’ Select Farm partners to its Remarksable Value range and the latest new product launches.
“An in-store bakery would also offer a range of delicious bread and pastries, alongside dedicated flower and wine shops, and a click and collect point for online orders.
“If approved, the new Foodhall would create around 70 new jobs and provide a convenient, modern M&S shopping experience for Caerphilly residents and the surrounding community.”
In June, fashion retailer Next was granted planning permission to open a store in the same precinct, next to PureGym.
