Six people have been charged

Six people have been charged following a string of police drug raids in Newbridge and Torfaen.

Gwent Police officers raided a number of properties in the early hours of Wednesday September 2 as part of an investigation into the supply of class A drugs.

Drugs, cash, weapons, mobile phones, and a car were all seized during the raids, with nine people arrested.

Louis Hall, 27, of North Road, Newbridge, was charged with two counts of conspiracy to supply a controlled drug of class A.

Lisa Fields, 39, of Newchurch Court, Cwmbran; Jordan Jayne, 29, of Drayton Court, Cwmbran; and Katie Ward, 38, of Fields View Road, Cwmbran, were also charged with the same offence.

Kate Jones, 26, of Jerusalem Court, Pontypool, was also charged with these two offences, as well as with being concerned in the supply of a class C drug.

A sixth person, Alan Nimmo, 28, previously of Burghley Drive, Corby, Northamptonshire, was also charged with two counts of conspiracy to supply class A drugs.

All six were remanded to appear before Newport Magistrates Court on Thursday September 3.

Three 17-year-old boys, one from Cwmbran, one from Pontypool and another from Corby, were all released on conditional bail as enquiries continue.
