Abstract paintings from an Abertridwr-based artist will be on display at an art exhibition in the village.
Gary Plumley’s work will be displayed at the Oasis coffee shop between 6pm and 8pm on Friday October 9, and again between 11am and 2pm on Saturday October 10.
The exhibition is being hosted by community arts group Y Bowlen Werdd, and will include 13 large scale works which will be available to buy.
Beyond the exhibition, Y Bowlen Werdd has produced an annual poetry booklet for the past three years. The booklet, titled Tatws Siôn Cent, is named after Siôn Cent, a 14th‑century poet from Abertridwr, and the legend in which he tricked the devil into helping him harvest potatoes.
Each edition is themed around a different area of the Aber Valley. This year’s booklet has seen record participation, with 40 entries submitted – almost double last year’s total of 21. The fourth edition was released in June.
