UPDATE: Police re-appeal over mystery of man, 27, found dead in road near Blackwood

 

A 27-year-old man was found dead on the roadside during the early hours of Sunday morning.

Gwent Police is investigating after the man’s body was discovered at the side of Penmaen Road between Oakdale and Pontllanfraith.

Officers want to speak to anyone who was walking or driving along the road between the hours of 2am and 4am and who may have seen something significant.

Police are in contact with the family of the man, who was from the Bristol area, and are supporting them.

Officers are looking at CCTV, conducting house to house enquiries and forensic work is ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the death.
