The family of 27-year-old Ian Hamilton, who was mysteriously found dead in a road near Blackwood has paid tribute to their son.

In a statement released through Gwent Police, the family said: “Ian will be remembered by us, his brothers, girlfriend and grandfather as a loving, outgoing person who loved life and lived it to the full.

“He was kind and generous and enjoyed keeping fit and was well known for his running.

“Although living in Bristol, Ian kept in contact with us and it gives us some comfort at this sad time that we spent the evening with Ian prior to this tragedy.

“Ian will be greatly missed by us all and his many friends.

“Sleep tight son.”
