Councillor Allan Pritchard, leader of Caerphilly County Borough Council, said: “We are excited to be collaborating with BBC Cymru Wales and are pulling out all the stops to make this year’s BBC Proms in the Park a truly magnificent evening. Families and music lovers are invited to come along, bring a picnic and join in with traditional Proms in the Park summer festivities.”

The evening will close with a spectacular fireworks display above Caerphilly Castle, the backdrop to this stunning event.

The council is also planning to provide a Park and Ride facility and two extra Arriva Trains Wales services have been added to the Caerphilly to Cardiff Central timetable on the Saturday at 11pm and 11.15pm.

The 11.35pm service from Caerphilly has been extended from Ystrad Mynach to Rhymney.

An announcement is expected soon confirming artists and presenters.
