Llamau benefits from People’s Postcode Lottery

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 16:00, Friday July 29th, 2011.

Homelessness charity Llamau has been awarded £1,000 to refurbish its youth hostel in Risca.

The funding has been awarded from the People’s Postcode.

Llamau’s Risca house provides a stable, secure environment for young people, many of whom have recently left the care system.

Shelly Haines, Llamau’s project manager, said: “We’re so pleased to have been successful in our application.

“We’d like to say a massive thank you to the People’s Postcode Trust, as this will make such a difference to the young people who live here. The refurbishment will really make the house feel like a home.”

People’s Postcode Trust advisor Clare Oliver said: “The project is one which will hugely benefit the surrounding community, and People’s Postcode Trust is delighted to be a part of it.”

People’s Postcode Lottery is Great Britain’s charity lottery and has already raised more than £12 million for thirteen charity partners and 428 community projects across Great Britain.
