Risca man charged over Oakdale road death

UPDATE: Risca man in court charged with dangerous driving after road death

A 22-year-old man has been charged with Causing death by dangerous driving after a man’s body was found dead in the road.

Ian Hamilton, 27, who was also known as Parker, was found dead at the side of Penmaen Road, between Oakdale and Pontllanfraith in the early hours of Sunday July 17.

A 22-year-old man will appear before Caerphilly Magistrates on Wedenesday morning charged with:

  • Causing death by dangerous driving
  • Fail to stop after a road accident
  • Fail to report a road accident
  • Driving with no insurance
  • Driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence

An 18-year-old girl from the Risca area, who was also arrested, has been released by Gwent Police without charge.
