Railway bridge in Caerphilly town to close for gas main works

The railway bridge on Cardiff Road between Clive Street and St Martin’s Road at the top of Caerphilly town will be closed to northbound traffic from Monday September 19 for between one and two weeks.

Buses will not be able to travel into Caerphilly over this bridge and are diverted as follows:
A Cardiff – Watford – Caerphilly – Graig-y-Rhacca
B Cardiff – Watford – Caerphilly – Senghenydd
K Caledfryn – Trecenydd – Caerphilly

Routes A and B from Cardiff to Caerphilly
Buses will operate as normal to Watford Park then via Lon-y-llyn and Nantgarw Road to Caerphilly Interchange. Buses will not serve bus stops on St. Martin’s Road. Passengers waiting at the Miners’ Hospital should use the bus stops on Lon-y-llyn

Route K from Caledfryn to Caerphilly
Buses will operate as normal to Martin’s Farm traffic lights then turn left and operate via Nantgarw Road to Caerphilly Interchange. Passengers from Nantddu & St. Christopher’s Drive wishing to travel to Caerphilly should board the bus on its way to Caledfryn.

There are no changes to buses from Caerphilly to Cardiff or Caledfryn.
