Caerphilly County Borough Council has revealed savings in the region of £100,000 after introducing a scheme to better manage its agency workers.
Last year the council reviewed the way it employed temporary staff across the organisation and decided to work with with Cardiff Council and a number of other local authorities in Wales.
A new agency scheme was developed which simplifies the way the council recruits temporary workers.
Cllr James Fussell, cabinet member for human resources said: “We are continually looking at ways to save money and make the organisation more efficient while maintaining frontline services. This new agency management service is proving to be very effective and we have seen efficiency savings in the region of £100,000 since its introduction last June.”
