Second A468 crash in less than 10 hours

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 11:25, Thursday April 22nd, 2010.

Police are investigating a second crash on the A468 Caerphilly bypass.

The latest crash happened yesterday at about 4.50pm near the Corbett’s roundabout – less than 10 hours after the first crash.

Gwent Police said a lorry and a Ford Fiesta was involved in yesterday afternoon’s crash and that the 79-year-old male driver of the car had to be taken to hospital.

The 41-year-old woman driver of the lorry was uninjured as was a 79-year-old woman passenger in the car.

The elderly car driver was released from hospital last night.

A Corsa and a Land Rover also received minor damage as a result of the crash.

The crash followed a 7am smash on the same road that day.

Witnesses who saw what happened, in either smash, should contact Gwent Police on 101.
