Police investigate A468 Caerphilly bypass crash

Police are appealing for witnesses after a two-car smash on the A468 Caerphilly bypass this morning.

The accident happened at 7am just after the St Cenydd roundabout heading towards the Corbetts roundabout.

A Vauxhall Vectra and a Vauxhall Corsa were involved in the collision and Gwent Police said the two women drivers of the car – a 53-year-old and a 32-year-old were taken to hospital.

Their injuries were not serious.

Officers closed the road until 9.30am and are investigating the accident.

Witnesses who saw what happened should contact Gwent Police on 101.

Update: Second crash on road at 4.50pm
