Caerphilly Arts Service, run by the council, has been helping the creative artists of the future through a training scheme.
Twenty budding artists all corners of the arts sector have been taking part in a free community arts training scheme.
From dancers to artists, and musicians to poets, the scheme, now in its third year, was developed by Caerphilly Arts Service as a way of developing skills, knowledge and opportunities for artists intending to run workshops in areas such as schools and in community settings.
Cllr Phil Bevan, cabinet member for education, leisure and lifelong learning said: “This excellent scheme continues to make a real difference to the participants – many that have completed the training scheme have gone on to make a career through the arts, and therefore increase the quality and range of activities across the area.
“The scheme has also offered participants the opportunity to share experiences, have fun and develop new ways of working together.”
The scheme is delivered in partnership between Caerphilly, Torfaen, Merthyr Tydfil, Blaenau Gwent and Rhondda Cynon Taff County Borough Councils.
