Caerphilly Council staff to raise cash for Children in Need

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 18:00, Wednesday November 16th, 2011.

Caerphilly County Borough Council staff will be busy over the next few days raising cash for BBC charity Children in Need.

Fundraising activities include a ghost tour, a rugby tournament, a pool tournament and a race.

The activities started on Wednesday with a seven-a-side tag rugby tournament at Heolddu Leisure Centre, Bargoed. At the centre on Friday will be a sponsored fitness challenge.

On Thursday, a special ‘ghost tour’ will be taking place at Llancaiach Fawr Manor House in Nelson. Caerphilly councillors and employees have volunteered to raise cash for Pudsey by taking part in a sponsored candlelit tour of the 17th century manor that has a long history of spooky sightings.

On Friday, a pool tournament has been organised at Pontllanfraith House and staff will take part in a ‘Pudsey Race’ around the grounds of Penallta House in Ystrad Mynach.

Also on Fridaty, staff at Pontllanfraith House will also be able to scale a special climbing wall in the car park between 12midday and 2pm.
