All lanes on the M4 between Junction 30 Cardiff Gate and Junction 32 Coryton have been re-opened after an early morning smash between a crane and a lorry.

Motorists had been advised to avoid the M4 with two lanes westbound closed between Junction 30 Cardiff Gate and Junction 32 Coryton.

Queues of up to 10 miles built up soon after the crash but traffic has gradually returned to normal. Traffic Wales said all lanes had re-opened at 12pm.

One person was taken to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff but no further details have been given.

The crash happened at 6.51am.
