A Crosskeys man has pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving.

Jamie Gray, 22, of Garden Suburbs, Pontywaun, appeared via video link at Cardiff Crown Court. He will now be sentenced in December.

The body of Ian Hamilton, 27, from Bristol, was found in a road in Pontllanfraith, in July this year.

Ian Hamilton, 27 from Bristol, and who was also known as Parker, was found dead at the side of Penmaen Road, between Oakdale and Pontllanfraith in the early hours of Sunday July 17.

He had been visiting family in the area and was last seen alive walking from the bus station area in Blackwood.

Gray had originally admitted the lesser charge of death by careless driving but this was rejected. He was due to stand trial in January charged with death by dangerous driving but has now admitted that charge.

He is to be sentenced in December.
