International Kite fliers will descend on Blackwood Showfield on Friday August 20 at 6pm to show off their spectacular skills with kite displays, fights and races.

The first ever Kite Nite will climax with a spectacular fireworks finale which kick-starts an exciting weekend that will include the first ever two-day Bedwellty and County Show.

This year Caerphilly County Borough Council is working with Bedwellty Show organisers to extend the popular agricultural event with a food and drink market and more family entertainment.

Keeping with an animal theme there will be ‘Toy Story Shires’, ‘The Quack Pack’, ‘Black Mountain Falconry and Gun Dogs’, ‘Paws for Thoughts Dog Display’, ‘Ferret Racing’ and lots more.

The many traditional agricultural displays of animals will also be at the family event on Saturday 21 and Sunday August 22 from 8.30am until 6pm each day, with hunter displays, side saddle, and showjumping.

Parking is available on site for £6 per car and at adjacent Britannia Fields for just £4 per car.
