Caerphilly Friends of the Earth Green Fayre a success

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 14:54, Wednesday December 14th, 2011.

A fair held by the Caerphilly branch of Friends of the Earth has been hailed a success.

The organisation held its ‘Green Fayre’ at the Twyn Community Centre in Caerphilly town last month.

The event had 16 stallholders showing a variety of locally produced goods such pottery, jewellery, crochet, teddy bears, knitwear, driftwood Christmas trees, cakes and plants plants

Martin Rendle, from Caerphilly Friends of the Earth, said: “Our Green Fayre showed there are some very talented people right here in South Wales making quality products but that there needs to be a suitable venue for showing them to the public.”

The fair attracted about 300 visitors and many of those took part in a raffle which raised £112 for the Caerphilly Children’s Centre

Caerphilly Friends of the Earth meets on the last Monday of every month at 7.30pm at the Twyn (except during December).
