Grace Yendle Davies and her new trike

A three-year-old Caerphilly girl who suffers from autism has had an early Christmas present in the form of a special trike.

Grace Yendle Davies’ Tomcat trike was paid-for by the efforts of a fundraisers who raised £1,661.01 for charity Cerebra.

Cyril Phillips, John Tucker both from Carmarthen and Michael McHugh, Jason Thrupp, Lloyd Griffiths and Martyn Mortimore from the Neath/PortTalbot area completed the Three Peaks challenge in under 14 hours to raise the cash.

Grace has autism and the trike will not only help Grace physically but will also give her independence and the chance to enjoy family outings.

Grace’s mum Jane said: “I really want to thank the gentlemen who helped raise money to fund Grace’s trike. We are so grateful to have received the funding from Cerebra and really cannot express how much of a difference the trike will make to Grace’s mobility and confidence.”

Based in Carmarthen, Cerebra is a national charity aiming to improve the lives of children and young people with neurological conditions through research and on-going support. Everyone at Cerebra would like to thank Cyril and the team for braving the elements to help support children with neurological conditions and brain injuries.
