A group of students from Coleg Gwent’s Crosskeys Campus raised more than £800 for charity Help for Heroes.
Second year National Diploma Health and Social Care and Independent Living Skills (ILS) students raised the cash on Armistice Day November 11.
The group dressed up, sold cakes and held a ‘name the army bear’ competition in aid of the charity.
Health and Social Care Lecturer Penny Jones said: “We held the event to highlight the wonderful work Help for Heroes do for wounded servicemen and women.
“All students made a fantastic effort and special mentions should go to Sophie Kingston for helping to coordinate the event and Rhiannon Wall for managing to raise £80 for the charity on her own. It was a great success.”
