UPDATE: Three Caerphilly men charged with murder of Tony Singh

Four men from the Caerphilly area have been arrested in connection with the death of 24-year-old Tony Singh.

Mr Singh was discovered at his flat in Bryngwyn Road, Newport, on the evening of Monday November.

The four men, aged 31, 35, 36 and 39, all from the Caerphilly area, were arrested today on suspicion of murder and are currently in police custody being questioned.

Detective Chief Inspector Peter Jones, who is leading the investigation said: “I am treating the death of Tony as murder.

“Following enquiries undertaken I believe he was the victim of a violent attack.

“Tests are continuing to establish the cause of death however initial indications are that Tony died from head injuries.

“Specialist officers are continuing to support Tony’s family and I would like to thank the public for coming forward to assist us with this enquiry, particularly those living in the area where Tony was discovered. There has been a large police presence there in the past week and the community have worked closely with us.

“The last corroborated sighting of Tony is when a taxi dropped him off near to Sunhealth Gym on Stow Hill in Newport between 11.30am and midday on Thursday November 11. If anyone has any further information I would still urge them to come forward as they could assist us with our on-going enquiries.”
