A Newbridge man has been banned from every shop on Blackwood High Street because of his drunken behaviour.
Rodney Glen Peplar, 47, of Bryngwyn Cottages, Newbridge, was handed a two-year Criminal Antisocial Behaviour Order by Caerphilly Magistrates’ Court on August 9.
The CRASBO, is different to a standard Antisocial Behaviour Order as it is made as a result of criminal behaviour.
Peplar’s recent behaviour included drunkenness, offensive behaviour against passers-by, repeated counts of theft, threatening behaviour and violence towards police officers.
If he breaches the CRASBO, Peplar could face up to five years in prison.
Sergeant Neil Jones, of Blackwood Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Gwent Police made the application to offer protection to the residents, retailers and visitors to Blackwood from his persistent alcohol fuelled anti-social behaviour and criminality.
“We are pleased that the court recognises his conduct has been intolerable and hope that the order will either lead Mr Peplar to curb his behaviour or that it will give officers the ability to robustly deal with any breaches.”
Peplar is now banned from the following:
