Police are investigating how a 25-year-old man was found in a street with serious injuries.
The man was found at 10pm last night at Central Avenue, Pantside, Newbridge.
A spokeswoman for Gwent Police said: “We were called to Central Avenue, Pantside, at about 10pm last night as a 25-year-old local man was found injured.
“He was taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital where his injuries are currently being assessed. It is not known how he came by his injuries and we are investigating to establish how he came by his injuries
“We don’t currently know how he came by his injuries, we are trying to establish the circumstances.”
Nearby Pantside Primary School is closed because of the incident.
