Gwent Police has made a fresh appeal for information on the disappearance of Kyle Vaughan exactly a month after he was last seen.
A team of detectives from the Gwent Police Major Incident Team, officers from neighbourhood policing teams and forensic experts are still investigating Mr Vaughan’s disappearance on December 30 2012.
More than 50 officers and staff have been dedicated to the investigation and have dealt with more than 600 operational actions and collected more than 230 statements.
Searches are ongoing and at least 16 specially trained search officers are being deployed to the investigation every day.
Crime Scene Investigators have also been deployed, as well as the police helicopter and dog section.
Officers have visited more than 100 CCTV sites and collected approximately 200 hours of footage which is being analysed.
Eight arrests have been made in relation to the investigation. All have been bailed pending further inquiries.
The last believed sighting of Mr Vaughan was on the A467 between Risca and Crosskeys, sometime between 11pm and 11.45pm on Sunday December 30 2012. It is believed he was wearing a dark coloured beanie hat, a dark coloured t-shirt, three-quarter length denim shorts, white trainers, and a gold chain.
On the same night at approximately 11.45pm, officers found Mr Vaughan’s car – a silver Peugeot 306 – which had been involved in a collision.
Senior investigating officer Detective Superintendent Peter Jones said: “We continue to appeal for any bits of information people may have regarding the circumstances surrounding Kyle’s disappearance.
“No matter how small or insignificant you may think the information is, please call us because it may make all the difference to our investigation.
“We remain fully committed to finding out what happened to Kyle on the night of December 30 and we won’t stop until all avenues and lines of enquiry have been exhausted.
“Family liaison officers are continuing to provide Kyle’s family with support at this very difficult and upsetting time.”

- A 27-year-old man from Blackwood arrested on suspicion of murder – released on police bail pending further inquiries.
- A 22-year-old woman from the Newbridge area on suspicion of perverting the course of justice – released on police bail pending further inquiries.
- A 27-year-old woman and a 28-year-old man both from the Cwmfelinfach arrested on suspicion of murder – released on police bail pending further inquiries.
